Medical Evacuations, Charters and Other Rates

Cargo
If cargo is transported on a separate flight this will be considered a charter and will be subject to the charter rates listed above.

Maximum passenger capacity:  6 passengers

Maximum Payload (passengers and cargo): 1300 pounds, including fuel

*We accept baggage subject to charges outlined above. Each bag, including bags accepted free of charge, must weigh 50 pounds or less.

Cargo if cargo is on a regularly scheduled flight it will be subject to the $0.58 per pound or $15.00 per cubic foot, whichever is greater. If cargo is transported on a separate flight this will be considered a charter and will be subject to the charter rates outlined on the Fare Schedule.

**ATV capacity subject to weight/dimensional restrictions, freight in vehicle charged separately. Please contact the ticket agent at (907) 310-0081 to arrange transport.

***Medical Evacuation rate includes fuel between Akutan Island and Akun Island. The rate assumes no more than two (2) hour standby time at destination. 

****An Airport Service Route Charter includes charters for airline flights (excluding regularly scheduled Grant Aviation Flights) that arrive in Akun and require passenger and cargo transport along the Service Route. Airport Service Route Charter Rates will be billed per 1/10th of an hour. Fuel will be billed at cost. To schedule an Airport Service Route Charter the pilot must be given 12 hours advanced notice. The pilot can be reached at (907) 891-5850.

*****Other Third Party Charters include charters that require Maritime Helicopters to take Customers to a destination outside of the Service Route. These Charters should be arranged with Maritime Helicopters directly. Other Third Party Charter Rates will be billed at 1/10th of an hour. Fuel will be billed at cost. To schedule an Other Third Party Charter the pilot must be given 12 hours advanced notice. The Maritime Helicopters office can be reached at (907) 235-7771.


Making Reservations and Ticketing

To make helicopter reservations, go to our booking page. Payment via credit card or corporate account will be accepted there.


Methods of Payment

It is the preferred method that all reservations be paid for on the reservations site. We accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. We cannot accept American Express cards at this time.

Schedule

Weather permitting, the helicopter will run trips on all days with scheduled air service into the Akutan airport on Akun Island. The scheduled times will be coordinated on the day of service with Grant Aviation and weather conditions. Passengers need to be at the Akutan Helipad 30 minutes prior to the Grant Aviation flight.
